Hello all... We have several AS/400's that are attached to the internet. SMTP has been enabled on them, mostly to support sending spoolfiles via e-mail. Until recently, SMTP mail sent to a user on one of the AS/400's, was viewed, filed, edited and/or replied to via the Work with Mail option of Office Vision/400. The Office Vision/400 product made it easy for a user to look at and clean up their incoming mailbox. We have decided to move away from Office Vision in favor of other POP mail servers on UNIX platforms with PC clients (Eudora, netscape etc.). So as part of our most recent CISC to RISC upgrade, we will not be installing Office Vision/400 on the RISC system. The problem I want to prevent is... Users won't have Office Vision/400 to view their mail anymore. They won't care, since we have been migrating them to our UNIX POP mail servers. However, I'm sure most of these users won't unsubscribe from Listserve Discussion Groups and such, so there will continue to be a regular flow of SMTP mail into our AS/400. My question is: If a user is set up to receive mail from the internet, to their AS/400 mailbox (not POP), how will I be able to view what is being received so it can be managed (most likely just deleted) without the use of Office Vision/400? I know there is a RCVDST command that can received network distributions, but I can't find a command that will let me list what is available for each user and I'm not sure if I can use the RCVDST command to just delete mail. I did not want to have to touch each user profile if possible either. For example, I had not planned on setting up a POP mail environment if I didn't have to. I would appreciate any insight you might have on how I can manage this problem. TIA Kenneth -- * *************************************** * Kenneth E.
