You can't do this yet on any version of AS/400. This capability is promised in v3r1m3 of Client Access when it's GA. It depends on various server changes on the 400. If history is a precedent, these changes will be backfilled via PTFs to v3r2, I believe. You CAN get the IP address associated with the QPADEVxxxx device, with the QDCRDEVD API, format DEVD0600. For v3r2, this is activated with PTFs SF38876, SF38885 and any co/pre PTFs. If you have room in the table(s), you could put the IP address where the device name is now. If, like us, your field is CHAR(10), you need to do something else for now. We put CHAR(8) hex-equivalent of the IP address into the device-name field. Works for us. Let me know if you want code.
