Hi All:

I believe that the 120 that you are referring to is the "Time To Live". 
 This is not measured in minutes but in "hops" across servers.  Everytime 
this packet is handed off from server to server on it's way to the final 
destination, this "Time To Live" is decremented by 1.  When it reaches 0 
the packet is discarded to prevent packets infinitely looping around a 
network.  I don't think think is your problem.

When this happens to me between our offices, it it because a NEW IP address 
has entered one of the networks and the attached router has to tell the 
remote router that this host is now on line.

We have a TCP/IP connection between two routers to our vendor, every
three minutes the line is coming up, whole day. In my understanding the
keep-alive parameter within TCP/IP is doing this, at our side it's
standing on 120 minutes, so I'm thinking it could not be our side.

Are there more parameters within TCP/IP who could handle this ping every
three minutes???
