Sure it is, but what else you gonna use for unattended ftp in a batch file? Sure, you can use CuteFTP and probably WS-FTP in unattended mode, but that's no different in the end, is it? And since AS/400 ftp server does not present the info in a format that most (GUI) ftp clients can handle, I find the command line version eminently useful. Does anyone know of a way to get a different layout of the info AS/400 FTP returns for each file? I mean, it puts the owner first, e.g., and I know of no other platform that does that. Definitely get WS-FTP or CuteFTP or ? for maintaining Web sites. But we're looking at, e.g., automating bank reconciliation transfers. Don't need GUI for that. Use the best tool for the task at hand!
