Right now I think that's the obvious solution.  I'll mention this to the
compiler folks and see if they will consider allowing this as an option in the
future.

One thought - you could simply do the TEST against the *ISO value to make sure
that you have a valid date, and then compare against variables pre-set to the
*YMD Hival and Loval values.

e.g.    If   (Date < LowYMD)  or  (Date > HighYMD)
