It is my understanding that crypt is a one-way encryption and you will not
be able to decrypt the password on the AS/400.  You might want to check the
book, Applied Cryptography, by Colin Plumb for more information on this
subject.  The AS/400 does have DES available in a limited manner via the
machine interface.  I note that your E-mail address is OUTSIDE OF THE US
and CANADA.  Please be advised that the US Government has placed severe
restrictions on our ability to export cryptography to your country. 
However, you may find your answer in cryptography sites all over the world
by checking YAHOO....
