I have not found an API to list the program stack.


There are two ways to get the information that I know of, one, DSPJOB
*PGMSTK to print and read the spool file, or two, sndpgmmsg to caller,
receive message to get caller name, send message to that program's caller,
receive message to get next programs name, send message to..... until you
reach the top of the stack. I admit neither one is grand, but I would opt
for the second option if I needed to know the stack in a program, and the
first if I was going to simply read (using my eyes) the spool file.

I would love to see an API to list the program stack, but I sure can't find
one, and I've looked hard. Anyone with enough knowledge of the internal
OS/400 job structures and MI care to write one?
