IMHO, queues are a very elegant method of inter program communications.  I've
always had a sneaky hunch that it's IBM's secret for maintaining a robust OS.
(message or data it still ends with queue)   Personally, as an application
designer, I view data queues as a method of developing "threads" for a
living/learning front line business application.

The sweet part of OS/400 is that there is nothing preventing you from using 
basic
menu functions, UIM functions or developing your own "shell" process.  If the
manuals do not EXPLICITLY say it can not be done, your imagination and talent 
are
the only limits.

Gosh I think there is a new moon coming up...let me check my water table :)  As 
I
was typing this I had flashes of Jeff Goldbloom in "Lost World" saying" "ooh ,
aaaah, that's how it starts then there's the screaming and running...."
