John,
Did you mean double apostrophe? 'January''98' works interactively on our
system. You could always do
where substr(invoice,1,7) = 'January' and substr(invoice,9,2) = '98'

I need to do a select statement for the following string
January'98
ex: WHERE INVOICE = 'JANUARY'98'
I would normally include the String in single quotes - but since there
is already a single quote this returns an error : Token 98 not valid
Double quotes also gives me an error message.
ex: WHERE INVOICE = "JANUARY'98"
Column "JANUARY'98" not in specified tables.
We are on V3R2.
