I did find a partial fix for this problem after calling IBM. For the Manufacture model I was stating *WSCST. IBM directed me to use the model number here because when you use *WSCST it thinks the printer is a line printer. I wasn't aware that you could specify a WSCST without using *WSCST in the model number, but it worked great. Now the only problem is figuring out how to fix the LPI or line spacing. But, someone is on the phone with IBM right now. Bradley V. I have been playing around with sending PCL to it with the WSCST. It still seems to always want to pull from the 11x17 even though I tell it in the escape codes that when the printer output is 10cpi to use letter. Since I tried that it pulls 11x17 and formats the data to fit proportionally to the way it did on8.5x11 (right side and bottom have large blank areas.) I guess I will have to call HP to get the printer codes and make sure I'm sending the right ones. I haven't yet seen printer codes for the 11x17 tray in their documentation. Bradley V. Try hooking the printer to another machine (like a PC) and see if you can print from another tray. I had a devil of a time with a second hand 4029 until I realized that it wasn't being wrongly told to feed only from the top tray, but rather than the feed roller in the bottom was too worn to reliably pick up a sheet and the printer was giving up and trying the other tray in desperation. If you can get it to work properly off a PC, then try it again on the AS/400 (without turning the printer off, if possible, to avoid resetting the thing if the PC driver rearranged some settings).
