Assuming that you can't use RSTOBJ, I'd probably use CYPFRMTAP (Copy
From Tape) which lets you specify the record length of the saved file.
You may need to create a tapf if the tape you are trying to read is
coded in ASCII, or uses non-standard tape labels. Otherwise,
QGPL/QTAPE should be adequate as your tapf. [:)

I received a tape that has a list of files and libraries with a fixed record
length of 256. What command do I use to restore the tape contents to an as/400
ver3, rel 2.
