I've never heard of a way to secure backup / archive media in such a way that it was inaccessable in some way. Just my $.02 < Main frame systems currently have this ability. One of the reasons for this is not what is on the volume but protecting the volume itself from use. Expiration date/days does not always works!!!!! There has to be a better method of protecting a volume than the IBM's expiration date because 85% of the 400 community uses *PERM. Thinking of that, expiration date is worthless. This might be a better method. Peter H. O'Connor PAE Inc. 7 Riverway Rd.
