IBM's AS/400 version of SOM/DSOM has been canned, from what my sources tell me.

There is, apparently, a Java CORBA ORB (I think Visigenic offer it), so if you
can get to V4Rx and put on the native AS/400 Java VM, you may be able to go via
that route for CORBA services (if the Java ORB doen't use any of the Java AWT
classes).
