Oooohhhh  !  Seriously bad news for IBM customers.  As of the end of
1998 IBM is withdrawing maintenance coverage from the following state of
the art machines !    :-)

OVERVIEW

Today, IBM is announcing the withdrawal of selected IBM machine types
from Maintenance Agreement Service. 

All of these machines were previously withdrawn from marketing. 

The affected machine types that you have installed are listed on the
attachment to this letter. The effective date of withdrawal for each
machine type is also
shown in the attachment. 

After the effective date shown on the attachment, IBM Hourly Service
will be available for purchased machines provided that skills and other
resources, such as parts, tools and test equipment, are available.
