---------- I am creating a flat file per specs from another company that must contain records in the following format and order: Company Header Item #1 : Item #??? Customer 1 Invoice Detail : Invoice Detail : Customer ??? Invoice Detail : Invoice Detail Company Totals The first record is Company Name, Address, etc. The next section is like an item master that contains a record for each item that is being reported. Third section contains a record for the Customer followed by an Invoice Detail for each line on an Invoice for the customer during the week being reported. The Invoice Detail is sorted by Item #. So, you can see that my logical must be in Cust#, Item# and then Date sequence. The specific day during the week that the Invoice is for is not significant. The last record is then a summary of the Units and Dollars for the entire file. Each record type is identified by a control character at the front of the record. > Joe, > Make a new logical with the "wdate" as the first field in the > index not the last. Then try you program again. >> Logical file is SLHSTDL9. Maintenance is *IMMED. All lines from the source >> member are shown. >> >> A* Description: Sales History Detail by Customer, Item, Date >> A R SLSHDR PFILE(SLHSTDTP) >> A K WCUST# >> A K WITEM >> A K WDATE +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
