Booth Wish I'd run into more programmers ( on the job ) with your enthusiam! I've been wanting to get going with the GUI on the 400 for years now but somehow I keep winding up in the muck of RPG maintenance... I'm at a shop now where I might get a chance to experiement more and have some time for learning. We'll be getting a new 600 in a couple weeks with V4R2 loaded... That's a start... But the downside is we ( MIS manger and myself ) first have to finish a PRMS upgrade as well as handle adminstration for a Citrix Winframe network using WYSE Winterms...etc... Before we can complete the PRMS upgrade we gotta convert a bunch of reports that are written in FUSION ( ugly )... I have to get the reports done fast as possible and don't know RPGIV well enough to be fast enough in that so have to stick to what I know best...III I've subscribed to Gary Guthrie's RPG SOURCE which is great and of course read all the AS400 newsgroups and this list. There's only so many hours in a day and this stuff takes some time to learn.... Anyway just wanted to say I really enjoy reading your posts and I share your frustration with the lack of prime time point and click power on the 400... I'm keeping a close eye on the GUI developments...I'd really like to see the 400 get it together in that regard... Nice to see SOMEONE else feels the same way! : ) boothm@ibm.net wrote: > Is there any negotiating or special pricing available on IBM stuff by > shopping around?
