Chuck,

I wouldn't fault Mr. Pendery, whenever you tell someone they are wrong it is 
likely they will become defensive.  I would suggest asking them to cover the 
AS/400, rather than asking them why they didn't cover the AS/400.

I have written to Byte to ask them to compare the available JVMs including the 
AS/400's.  They seem more likely to be swayed by the promise of better 
technology than any of the Ziff David publications.  Just recently they covered 
the S390 in a reliability issue.  To bad they didn't receive a few dozen 
letters before the article was written touting the reliability of the AS/400.  
After the fact letters are likely to just become editorial items.

defensive tone REALLY undermines any credibility he might have had with me as a
