Put the folowing code in your RPG IV program:

d  user                 254    263a         
The field "user" holds the user ID. This thecnique uses the "system data 
structure" (SDS). It is a special data structure identified by the letter "s" 
before the DS. For more detail, see the RPG reference manual.
