The adapter is an Intel Etherexpress PRO/100. The AUTOEXEC.BAT loads
the following:

c:\windows\net start
c:\windows\umb
c:\windows\tcptsr
c:\windows\tinyrfc
c:\windows\nmtsr.exe
c:\windows\emsbfr.exe

If I REM all of these out, including the 'net start', nothing works. I
have not tried various combinations of REMming.
