We had quite a lot of trouble with telnet after installing the PTFs for named devices, but the system has been stable for 2 or 3 weeks now. Usually if something dies an unnatural death, there is at least a message in the QSYSOPR message queue, and possible a problem entry (WRKPRB). To restart things, I guess I would: Run NETSTAT *IFC and make sure your interfaces are active. If that doesn't fix it, run STRTCP STRSVR(*YES) and as a last resort, try STRHOSTSVR *ALL Run these commands interactively and check your joblog for error messages. If some of the servers are running, you will see messages about being unable to start prestart jobs. This is normal and will hurt nothing. hth Pete Pete Hall peteh@inwave.com http://www.inwave.com/~peteh/ +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
