Yes.  

             OVRDBF     FILE(INPUT) TOFILE(&IN) MBR(FTPCMDS)

             OVRDBF     FILE(OUTPUT) TOFILE(&OUT1) MBR(FTPLOG)

             FTP  RMTSYS(&M1HOST) 

Is what I do.  &M1HOST is the site name/IP and &IN1 & OUT2 are the
library/filename of the script and the FTP log.. Write the script to the
file and run it.   

If you have a line in the script starting with an ! then the command will
go to the AS/400.

For example    ! sndmsg 'File FTPd' John 
will send the message to John.
