1. You can set up a macro that will automatically send/receive files utilizing the macro statements and assigning the macro to a pop-up keypad: File Transfer (Macro) You can use a macro to transfer files between the host and your PC by entering send (to the host) and receive (from the host) commands as macro statements. The easiest way to use such a macro is probably to assign it to one of the popup keypads. The symbols used in send and receive commands have the following meanings: ( ) Parentheses enclose operands that govern the action of certain command options. [ ] Brackets indicate an optional command argument. If you do not use the optional item, the program selects a default action. / A slash should precede the TSO password. d: Drive OS/400 (5250 session) send [d:][path] filename.ext library name file name member name [(options)] receive [d:][path] filename.ext library name file name member name [(options)] 2. You may remove the Send and Receive icons from the tool bar by utilizing tool bar setup under Appearance..toolbar. You simply drag the icon to the shredder. (very OS/2-ish). Use the right click to drag, not the left click. I don't believe that this removes or disables the transfer options that are on the title bar. You may be able to remove the transfer options by doing a customized setup at installation but I haven't checked. Hope that this helps! Subject: Client Access - Disable transfer option on workstation program --------------------------------- We have now started to implement CA win 3.1.3 on our new NT4 stations. In the past, our users had PCS on WFW 3.11 Our users are allowed to use the workstation program, and some file transfer that have been prepared by the programmers. For each file transfer, they just have to click an a nice icon. The problems with CA are : 1. autorun when they start a file transfer with PCS, the autorun parameter allows an automatic execution. (the parameters are in the RTO file) the same definition, executed with CA does not execute automatically : it shows the data transfer screen, and the user has to click on "data transfer to AS/400". BUT that means, he will be able to change the definitions and execute something completely different ... Is the a possibility to change that ? 2. Transfer on the menu on the workstation program, there is now a "transfer" menu, and a "Send" and Recv" icons on the toolbar. This means that our users have now the possibility to define new file transfers, and even upload data on the as/400. Even if we secure our libraries, a user which was allowed to access a file, will now be allowed to destroy that file with an upload. How can I suppress this option from the menu (and the transfer icons) ?
