Hi there !

I am using a V4R1 AS400 system. We need to print many reports from this
system for which we have purchased a TALLY T6045 Line Matrix printer.
The printer has been installed to a PC with the help of drivers supplied
by the manufacturer of the printer. It prints well from Windows ( from
local PC ) as also from DOS.

In AS400 we have created a Remote queue for our printing purposes. We are
also using a software ( a queue server ) by name "RPM" ( evaluation copy
) as the routing software . Details about this are available on the net
at www.brooksnet.com . Through this, we are able to get the desired
outputs when the PC to which the printer is attached to is some 10 feet
away from the AS400 system. BUT, when this PC is about 2 KM away from
the AS400 system ( actual location where the PC is to be placed ) , it
does not give the desired results.

It either prints 1/4 of the output or it squeezes the whole output to
quarter its size. We are using fibre optic cables for the remote
location. Even Dot matrix printers give the same output.

I had seen the message ( HP printers & the AS/400 on the midrange
mailing list by Danny Mc?) but our case is different.

Please help me solve this problem....

Thank you.,
Prakash.
