See this all the time. You must delete all spool files associated with the job
before they'll go away. Did ALL spool files associated with the job have a
status of FIN? Was the status of the job OUTQ or what? If all spool files had
a status of FIN and the status of the job was OUTQ that would be odd indeed.

There are a few jobs that are bizarre. When you do a SNDNETSPLF from one 400
to another, (it works differently than from two users on the same 400) you'll
see these spool files showing up under a QPRTJOB job. This job will not end,
even if you individually delete all spool files associated with the job and IPL
the system. The status may say OUTQ but trust me, it will still generate more
spool files. If you do another SNDNETSPLF after the IPL they'll still show up
under the same number/user/jobname. To end this job you'll have to do an
ENDJOB JOB(number/user/jobname) DLTSPLF(*YES), no IPL required. At one time we
freed up some substantial disk space by doing this ENDJOB. But we use an
automated task that does a lot of SNDNETSPLF.

Subject: Spool files that won't delete

Hello,

I have seen this strange occurrence and wondered if anyone has either. Has
anyone ever deleted spool files from a submitted job, but when you do that
the spool files still remain as FIN. Meaning they are finished, but I can't
get rid of the job entry when I do a WRKSBMJOB and the spool files show up
as FIN. I can't do anything with them because even the system says they
don't exist yet they still show as finished. How can I get rid of these?

Thanks
