Chuck,

I take it the file name does not begin and end with quotes ("090198")? If it 
did, it would be a valid name. If the name is really invalid,  I think the 
easiest approach might be to move everything else out of the library, delete 
the library, recreate the library and move everything back in. MOVOBJ is 
relatively quick, because nothing really gets moved. You'll need to get this 
library out of all active library lists before you can delete it.

Just out of curiosity, do you ever use Explorer to move files around on the 
/400?
