Wayne, Our company has a product called ZMOD FTP.Client offering CL-based FTP scripting for batch FTP. It gives you bullet-proof scripting because you can actually MONMSG on each FTP command and place in error recovery/exception notification. Scripts are compiled as CL pgms so that they can be called from a scheduler. I know that people on this list will tell you that you can use a text input file of FTP commands to run through the AS/400's FTP client. Be aware that you do not have any capability of recovering or making a decision within your script unless you end your FTP session. What good is that? If you want this to run in the background you will want this to be reliable. I know that you said that certain values you have are static (for now), but with CL scripting you can use variables to give you more power. You can download the ZMOD FTP.Client from our page at http://www.softwarejungle.com to try out. We have a new version that will be published on our page next week with some IFS related stuff like a CHKOBJ for IFS files, automatic DB to CSV reformatting, etc. This may be more than you currently need but there may be some other things in it that are useful.
