Here's a data structure trick (non-ISO), shown in
RPG 3 style but you'll get the idea.


    1      40      CY1
    5      60     MM
    7      80    DD
    1       80    YMD
    9     120    CY2
    5     120    MDY

If you have a CYMD:  move it to YMD and then move
CY1 to CY2 or
if  you have a MDCY:  move it to MDY and then move
CY2 to CY1.
Now you have the date either way you want it with
only 2 z-add's.
Make this a generic routine and pass in a
directional variable so you know which way to
convert and you've got date handling a la carte.
