I'm looking for information on using variables in the STRQMQRY command. I
want to prompt the user for the month number in a CL program and use the
response as the Variable Value in the SETVAR parameter. It seems that the
reply variable from the SNDUSRMSG command has to be character and no matter
what approach I take, I can't get the variable to be seen as numeric - the
tick marks (' ') are always seen around the value. Anyone know how to make
this work?
