Jon, I don't know of an easy workaround, nor anywhere in the manuals that it talks about it, but I can tell you what I've observed, and what I've done to fix it: I believe that what is happening is this - say I pass 3 parameters 10a, 40a and 10a. '123456 ' 'abcdefghijk ' 'eieio ' What you get (I think, correct me if I'm wrong) is this: '123456 ' 'abcdefghijk eieio' 'eieio ' What I've done to fix this is to append a string terminator character such as a carrot (^) or some such rarely used character. The called program looks for the carrot and pulls out just what is to the left of it. Not a very elegant solution, but I can count on one hand the number of times I've run into this problem. hth, Rick Jon.Paris@halinfo.it wrote: > > I know that if I define char parms to CL at 32chs or less they get passed > OK and that if they are larger they can get screwed up, but can someone > please remind me of the options I have to get round this.
