Internet E-mail from AS400

Does anyone know how to send an E-mail automatically from an AS400....and how
to attach a file (text format is fine) to the e-mail....and send the e-mail to
an internet address.  We have a network which connects several AS400's and a
couple of mainframes by TCP/IP.  I've used FTP to sent files to the mainframe,
but have a need to send files on a regular basis to outside vendors.  The
vendors operate mostly in a small networked PC environment (no AS400 on the
other end).  I would like to do send this file in a regular weekly batch job.
