>>> Well it seems that when I check for the existence of the object using QUSROBJD, and "PLATES" already exists, but I specify "Plates" instead, I get CPF9801 = obj not found. Bruce may be able to be more specific, but in the simplest of terms, some APIs uni-case the names passed, others assume that you mean what you're asking for <grin>. It may be that it's related to IFS etc. but I have a feeling from way back in my compiler writing days that we found that some of the internal APIs made the conversion for you and others didn't and that was just the way it was. The use of CONST etc. on the Proto will have no effect since it has no way of declaring that the case of the text is to be changed. I would suggest that you add an extra procedure ASUPPER (or prototype the C function) and call the function like so: CALLP AnyOldProc( P1 : AsUpper(P2) : ..... : Pn ) Jon.Paris@halinfo.it +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
