Nope, only one system. Could it be a service pack later than the one I have
installed these options?

I get a slew of other options, some checked, some not. I do not have the
ultimedia option. I, also, do not have this loaded on my 400.

Do you have multiple 400's? Do you have the right managing system? To check
your managing system try:
Start
Programs
IBM AS/400 Client Access
Client Access Properties
Service
Managing system
Apply
OK

1) Did you select the 'Managing System' to perform your upgrade from?

Yes.

2) I hear you about Network Station Manager. Mighty fragile isn't it? First
thing from IBM I've seen with the universal client - the browser. Bad example
of what can be done.

"Fragile" is not what I have been calling it. <G>

Only two options appear under the Change button for Operations Navigator:
Operations Navigator Base Support and Ultimedia Systems Facilities.

I haven't been talking to IBM. The message I quoted came from the online
"help," which magically appeared when I clicked on Network Station Manager. I'm
not trying to make Network Station Manager work--I gave up on that a few months
ago (it's a good thing everything IBM makes isn't like THAT). Just trying out
Operations Navigator to see what it can do, or can't do, as the case may be.
Thanks though.

Ensure that you have this subset of Op Nav on your PC.
Start
Programs
Client Access
Accessories
Selective Setup
Use the managing system
Operations Navigator
Details
Network

Our HTTP is running. Our 'IBM Network Station Manager' is not. Using Op nav
to click on 'IBM Network Stations' fails as it attempts to go to
http://###.###.###.###:2001/QIBM/NetworkStation/Admin
If I just go to http://###.###.###.###:81/QIBM/NetworkStation/Admin then it
works. On your machine it might be port 80 instead of 81. We changed ours via
WRKHTTPCFG due to Domino reasons.
I am surprised you've received as much help as you have from IBM on this
network station issue. I always receive 'delete and reinstall network station
support from your 400'.
I remember the 2001 somehow being used for this but I forget how. Oh well,
I've hoped I cleared up your Op Nav issue and you can go back to getting the
other problem solved. Don't let them off the phone!

Subject: Two CA questions

1. I'm at CA 400 V3R1M3 SF46891. I received an error when clicking on "Network
Station Manager" in Operations Navigator. Perfectly understandable--the Admin
server wasn't running. What I didn't understand was this message text from
CA-Internet help:

Unable to connect to the AS/400 Internet administration server

It is possible that the AS/400 Internet administration server has not been
started on this AS/400.
To start this server, do the following from the Operations Navigator window:

1 Select Network
2 Select Servers
3 Select TCP/IP
4 Right-click HTTP
5 Select Start

The problem is none of these options appear in my Operations Navigator. Is this
a case of the Help being ahead of the software? Or something I'm missing?

2. Does anyone know the name and location of the file(s) that provides the
AS400 mail transport for Microsoft Outlook? I seem to have accidentally removed
it from the list of available services and don't know how to get it back
without removing and reinstalling CA.
