Rich,
Don't you just hat that.  I think the best way is to NOT let the system
control the removing of empty spooled members.
Change the sysval qrclsplstg to *nomax  then add a jobscde that does a
rclsplstg 1.  Have it run a couple of days a week
sometime when the system isn't busy.

Anyone know what the QSPLMAINT job is on a V3R2 System is?  Suddenly it's
hogging 60% of the cpu and more for an hour or so, then it quits for awhile
and then starts hoggin up the CPU again.
Help, please, if you can.
