Glenn,

  If you are REALLY serious, go to the Advanced Backup and Recovery guide and 
follow the steps to
reload your system from the distribution tapes(CDs).  You will do a Function 24 
re-load which will
start with all the drives un-initialized.  DO NOT Take the option to recover 
the disk configuration
or it will put everything back! (A quasi un-format).  Once you have added all 
the disks to the
system ASP you should quit.  OS/400 prior to V4 is licensed to the customer not 
the CPU so it should
go back sans the operating system anyway.
