Can a trigger program determine which program updated the file that caused the trigger program to start? If so, and it was the other trigger program, return. However we end up with the triggert program locking itself out. FileA(6 digit version) has a record written to it, so *AFTER *INSERT trigger program goes off and updates FILEA(8 digit version) which triggers an update on FILEA(6 digit version). We have code to check the record being updated and drop out of the loop. But, the second jump back to FILEA(6 digit version) finds the record locked, since the intial trigger has not completed. We've come up with a way to get around this, clumsily. Anyone got any good ideas? krisV krishnan@ozemail.com.au +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +--- +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
