Dave,

Contact hardware support for this.  I believe it means the battery that keeps 
track of time, previous IPL, etc has gone kapoot.  A word of caution, if they 
replace your battery, the date should reset back to a 1980's date.

Hi,
The following message appears in our job log:
CPI94D8 "Control panel battery either discharged or not connected"

It appears under APPENDIX1.2.2 QCPFMSG Messages with ALROPT(*DEFER)
in the OS/400 Alerts Support V4R1.  

What is the control panel battery?  
Could someone please explain what could be causing the message,
and what should be done?
