We investigated this isse heavily about one year ago in anticipation of a
significant new development opportunity. Trying to set up &
maintain all of your message files will be a killer! There is a
better way!
This may be the time for you to look at
Lansa for your new systems
development. My company chose Lansa about 6 months ago for all new
applications development for both its multi-lingual & multi-client
capabilities. When you define each variable in the Lansa
repository, you can specify it as a multi-lingual variable (our standard
is to do this for all fields). You can then define both labels and
help text for the variable in each language that you desire.
Whatever language the user operates in will be automatically presented to
them.
In much less than 6 months, our developers have been able to crank out
applications very productively!
