Antje, I've not done this myself, but I have read on this list that there is a way to determine the IP address of a device. It may require that the calling PC issues a separate request to obtain the address then passes this as a parameter with the RUNRMTCMD. or the command being run may be able to perform it itself. What release of OS/400 are you at? This makes a difference. Have you checked the midrange.com archives? I know it's been discussed here before. BTW, your english is just fine. Your should hear some of the people that live here! =:-o antje.waelde@duravit.de wrote: > Hello all, > > my english is not very good, but I will try to explain my problem: > > some of our PC´s (CA/400 configured via TCP/IP) run a CL-programm which > performs RUNRMTCMD to do a filetransfer. > RUNRMTCMD request at RMTLOCNAME a name or IP-Adress of the PC to which the > data should be transferd. > Because of more than one PC use this program I must define in my CL-program > which job has which IP-Adress. > > Is there another way to handle this?
