Micheal, the easiest way that I've found to send a message is by adding the
 recipient to WRKDIRE
then using the SNDDST command

e.g.

 QSYS/SNDDST TYPE(*MSG) TOUSRID(( user   system-name)) DSTD(TEST)
 MSG('Sample message......Sample Message')

AS/400 program (CL if possible, Cobol second choice, RPG third)?
