• Subject: L-date field to *mdy

This seems simple enough but it has me buffaloed.

I have a field defined as an L-date field. In normal use it has a date of this
year, next year, or is empty. It's empty state is 01-01-0001.

I want to move that field onto a screen in the *MDY format. So, I do a move to
a 6/0 field, whichnormally works, but fails on the 1/1/1 because 1/1/1 is
outside the 1940 to 2040 window.

So how do I overcome the problem, or test for it?

Mt first idea was that the MOVE opcode for dates must have an error code, but I
can't find that to be true.
