Personally, I think the software subscription is great.  No more will
I have to go and beg management to understand that an outlay of cash
is required yet again from the budget for an OS upgrade.  With the
subscription, it's all part of owning the machines, as far as
management is concerned.  They see it as similar to paying hardware
maintenance to ensure it gets fixed when it breaks, and they just
budget the subscription right in as a matter of course.  Now I can
order an OS upgrade when needed, without having to worry about the
money.
