Sorry to have misled you on the last message, I read 305 as 302.  To define 
an indicator area you should use an array of two byte (5i 0) integers.  A data 
structure can be used to rename the array elements to something meaningful.  
You can always append the SQLCOD value to SQL0 to get the associated 
message.  ALWNULL is the keyword to use in DDS.  Based on your previous 
message I should warn you that native null database fields do mix very well 
with embedded SQL because the create sql rpg command does not support 
the  ALWNULL keyword.
