RE: NEXT SENTENCE & END-IF different in OPM and ILE COBOL

I didn't see the post of the original code, but I can say that Yes, Next
Sentence is supposed to transfer you to the statement following the period.
However, for a long time, the Period and the Logical-End-of-the-Condition
were the same.  That is why CONTINUE was introduced at the same time as the
scope delimiters (END-IF, etc).  As far as I know, NEXT SENTENCE and
CONTINUE are interchangeable and both go to the
Logical-End-of-the-Condition.

David, Ya I understood that, I was hoping to unoffensivly say to get the
stinking period out if you are going to use scope delimeters or dont use
scope delimeters rather use periods. The point being dont mix them
because it confuses the compiler. Also it is good to not use obsolete
statements eg.. NEXT SENTENCE... this has been replaced by CONTINUE.

Can you tell that you have hit a nerve here?
