Michael,

IBM doesn't seem to have any drivers on the AS400 for Apple laser
printers. I also work for a school system in Florida. We had to
purchase HP4000 with 10/100 Jet Direct Cards and connect them TCP/IP,
both to the local NT server and AS400 on the WAN. The AS400 has *lan
connection with Device Type 3812, Model 1, *IP, Remote location is the
IP of the printer. The MFG type and model is HP6 (the closest IBM has
to HP4000 drivers) and for System driver program its *HPPJLDRV. The
good thing about the HP is the MAC's can not only print their batches,
but also print screens and any stand-alone software to it. They pick it
up in chooser as a laserwriter 8. Hope this helps.

Does anyone know how to print to Apple Laser printers from a 400? I
would like a *LAN connection, but I'll take anything I can get (remote
outq, carrier pidgeon...).

I'm in a school district with a few Apple/Mac printers, and the schools
using these devices have been print-less since we went to the 400 from
an MVS mainframe on Feb 1, 99.
