A couple of days ago I had to ftp some large(300 meg +) save files from one
 400 to another(no tape compatability).
Here is what I found and wonder if anybody else has expirenced this.

Sending system 150
recieving system 720
10 mb ethernet - very low utilization.

I set up a simple CL to read through a list of libraries and save the to a
save file then FTP them to another system.
The times I ran into were in the 3.69 kb/sec for 400 to 400 transfers.
Not having that much time to wait I started my FTP server on my PC and
tried a couple, and got throughput times
of 300 kb/sec. both sending and recieving.

My question is why is it so slow 400 to 400???

400 to PC and then PC to 400 beat the pants(skirts) off of 400 to 400
transfers.

I also tried using ObjConnect and it did not work any faster.

I looked into the MTU setting on the lines and saw nothing outta the
ordinary.

Comments??
