What's wrong with running the vendor's new version through the same
converter and comparing that with your modified version?

There are a lot of us in the same situation, possibly a large majority. We
may also be using productivity aids such as J.D. Edwards' case tool.
There's not much point in running the output from that through the
converter IMO.
