That's right, these control characters mark the first and the last line of
the
page so that when you copy the member back to a spool file it knows where to
start and stop. This is the  Control character parameter (CTLCHAR) of the
CPYSPLF command. If you don't want them in there, like your going to copy
the
member down to a PC, the correct parameter is *NONE

I tested the spool file. I thank you very much.

I have another question now. I use the CPYSPLF command
to save the spool file. When I open it, I find that there have many
1 or 0 at first postion of some lines. Why?
It seems that number 1 indicates the first line of every page.
