Just take a look at 99.99% of COBOL programs. Yuck.

COBOL, when WELL WRITTEN, is elegant and -- if I may say so, I'm such a nerd
for saying this -- beautiful. The Laetitia Casta of Languages.

Done poorly, it's the Phyllis Diller of Languages.

No,    Mostly  Free Format code  NOT indented 99 %  of the time by the
majority of 
lazy programmers.   If the prompter or syntax doesn't do it,   How many
programmers
do you really,  really,  really think (look around at all the people you
ever worked with)
will take the time to  "Make it look Pretty" ?
