Glen the reason I need the Job # is this is a client server app and I
want to be able to track the status of the Job on the PC.  Also certain
objects will be created on the system which I can reference using the
Job #

The problem I am running into now is that I can't seem to retrieve the
message because the program that generated it is out of the call stack
before I can do the rcvmsg.

As far as I can tell here is what is happenning.

The server program is doing a QCMDEXC of the SBMJOB command.
Then I send it my rcvmsgpgm to retrieve the message - It doesn't
retrieve SBMJOB Message no matter what settings I try.  I can rcvmsg on
other messages in the Job Log, higher up in the call stack, but not the
one I need.

The server program is third party and I can't change it.

It seems I may need to go to the QMHLJOBL API.  Anyone got any good
examples of this one ?
