Here's my problem for the connexion gurus on the list.
I created several *LAN TCP/IP printers (ordinary &
IPDS) via CRTDEVPRT, each one with its own IP address.
All printers are HP or Lexmark, ethernet 10/100, local
or remote.
Everything is working fine ... but the writers are
dropped several times a day. The bug occurs when a
first file is to be printed, having the message :

of the following conditions:

Recovery . . . : For error codes 20-39, check for
problems in your network. After correcting the
problem, start the printer writer ( ... )

I checked all parms, nothing seems to be wrong. The
network guys confirmed having no problem from their
part.
I extended my tests and defined remote IP OUTQs on the
same printers. They work OK and are always ON, as they
don't have any printer writer attached.
But I cannot use them in IPDS, so I return to the need
of having IP printer writers ...
When I restart the writer, all accumulated spools in
OUTQ are printed normally. But I know next time it
will behave the same and the connexion will be
dropped.
Any ideas ???
Thanks
